Elk Rut in New Mexico,
By: NewMexicoHunt
Date: Sep 23, 2008
I just came back from another awesome Elk hunt in the Gila National Forest. I prommised a friend of mine I would help him shoot his first bull. The first morning I called in a nice 6 by 6 for him but the bull busted him and split the scene before he could get a shot. That evening I bugled in a bull and got the bull to start chasing me as I bugled and cow called. He came...

Its time to Blog,
By: Seabass
Date: Sep 24, 2008
I have blog build up right now, lots of stuff going on in my head just haven’t had time to get any of it out. Opening day Brother Mark shot a beast of a buck, I was the camera man. We flipped a quarter a week earlier at work, I lost. We didn’t have enough light to get good video footage. Second morning, back in the same tree I was the shooter, at 7:45a.m. three bucks came...

By: Marlin
Date: Aug 20, 2008
Well I regret to say that I have not visited the site in a while. I actually have a few days to mess around, so here I am. I became a prostaffer and began filming for Brian Doty's Xtreme Outdoor Adventures last fall and have been pretty busy since then. Luckily my wife and kids have put up with it so far. We have traveled all over Texas as well as Kansas, Old Mexico and even...

Member deadeye and myself went to our lease in zapata, Tx this past weekend to check out the damage hurricane Dolly did and it looks like all is well. Several inches of rain helped fill our ponds and also hatch mosquitos that have been hibernating for the past 50 years. We set up 4 stands, checked all our awesome game cam pics of hogs and deer. I refilled my feeders that the...

It's happening again,
By: Seabass

Last night I was a hunting fool. I know I slung an arrow at 5 differant bucks, they were everywhere. They were just appearing like ghost in the woods. I couldn't hit any of them. It's been a year since I had this happen to me, what a night. I think it was because I've been doing so much glassing, seeing the velvet horns, checking the cameras, corns growing everywhere, and I...

The bug is in the air,
By: Seabass
Date: Jul 24, 2008
It's July 24th and I'm pumped for deer season. I don’t have the bug all year but its starting to get me pretty good. Been going up to the farm trying to get an eye on what the season has to bring. For the first time in my life I saw a big 160 - 170 class buck with a 10" drop tine on each side. At first rain I grab a camera ran up the hill and stuck it were I thought I...

Well, the time has come. I am taking my USCG Captain's Test (OUPV 6) in a few weeks. You know how much I love running the saltwater....so I am taking the plunge. I have been studying my tail off - this stuff is NOT so easy! Yikes. (And I like to think that I am a pretty smart lil chica!! LOL!)

Anyway, pray for me. Wish me luck! Send me test taking tips!...

Texoma's Okay!!!,
By: Bigfowl
Date: Jun 29, 2008
My family and I just got back from a week of striper fishing at beautiful Lake Texoma. We had to buy Oklahoma licenses, because of the fact were going with a guide on the first day, to learn the lake and Texas and the okie state don't share waters like we do with Louisiana, at Toledo Bend and Sabine Lake.

So against my principles we went with aguide to learn...

Camo Clothing,
By: benjismokin22
Date: May 28, 2008
I was sitting here and was wondering about what kinds of camo is best for me. Then i came to to the point when i asked myself if i should get two of the same kinds or one of each? I mean patterns. I wasnt sure if getting a jacket/parka, with a camo pattern on it, then getting a set of bibs/pants with the same pattern on it. I think that it would be better to go ahead and but...

What the ??????,
By: Bigfowl
Date: May 13, 2008
As I sit here, I just help coach my final little league game of the season, I now realize that I have to attend swim season. something I was never involved in because me in a speedo is like trying to shove 100 pounds of you know what into a 20 pound sack. Just picture Chris farley in that SNL skit with his shirt off, and now picture him as a black guy, and yep that's me. ...

Big Boar Down!,
By: Basinboy
Date: May 7, 2008
Snooks and I headed up to the lease Monday to try and get some work done on our foodplots. We left town at 3pm and drove onto the lease at 5:30pm! We wanted to try and sneak in a hog hunt while there. We geared up and headed to our stands hoping the hogs weren't already there. I was barely settled in my stand when I hear BOOOOOM!!!!!
I received a text message from...

The website instant messanger is up now. We are still working out a few bugs, but overall I am very happy now that members can now talk one on one live. My two boys and I took my father to his deer lease this weekend in Centerville, Texas to fill his feeder. I found out after we got there that i needed to clean brush out of one road, put windows covers on his deer stand, and...

Winter TIme,
By: Charles
Date: Oct 23, 2007
The weather finally feels like the start of fall in Texas. Besides bow season opening it is also about time for the fall flounder run. I happen to have a great private place to fish for flounder thanks to member Bigfowl. Once the water temp falls to below 70 degrees and stays there, I will be out and catching some flounders. I have been dieting for a month as well due to a...

Trout Bite Heats Up As Temperature Heats Up

The wind continues to be an adversary on the water. Most days lately have included high winds that make fishing a little harder. The good news is the water level in the rivers has increased making more places available to everyone.

Recent trips have included a variety of fish but the most common catch...

Two Times the Fun!,
By: jgreen

Well, you know how much I love a challenge! So, this year’s turkey hunt in the beautiful Texas Hill Country would be NO different…..

After a recent boat accident, I managed to successfully strain my rotator cuff tendon and twist my ankle (not to mention a few bumps and bruises - ouch)! I had hoped to take a big tom with my bow this year, but the rotator cuff...
